For more than 20 years, Ms. Kazazian’s practice has focused on employment discrimination, wrongful termination, employment policies, and employee benefits litigation and arbitration. She represents management and individual clients in actions pending in the state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Ms. Kazazian has successfully litigated and tried countless cases to a judge and jury in the Colorado and New York state and federal courts. Ms. Kazazian draws on her trial experience to provide sound advice and counsel to clients in a variety of industries in all aspects of the employment relationship, including Human Resources policies, hiring and termination practices, diversity training, discrimination issues, and compliance with state and federal employment laws. Ms. Kazazian assists clients in avoiding disputes through skillful negotiation and drafting of policies and contracts. She has extensive experience counseling both employers and participants of benefit plans on issues of fiduciary duties and compliance with requirements of State and Federal employee benefits laws, including ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Ms. Kazazian has also successfully defended actions in bankruptcy court and on appeal, and draws on this experience in all aspects of a legal matter, from drafting agreements to avoid litigation, developing litigation strategy when unavoidable, negotiating enforceable settlements, and obtaining judgments and orders to ensure collection of the amounts awarded.
In addition, Ms. Kazazian represents clients in the litigation and arbitration of commercial matters, including franchise termination issues, real estate and business partnerships, contract disputes, and corporate governance. Her international experience is invaluable to the firm’s foreign corporate clients, which she represents in local commercial and employment matters.
Ms. Kazazian is also a Certified Mediator (alternative dispute resolution). She can be retained by non-clients to mediate employment law and commercial disputes, and volunteers her time to the Eagle County Courts to mediate small claims disputes. Ms. Kazazian was an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Colorado Heights University in Denver, Colorado.
Ms. Kazazian is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of New York and Colorado, and also admitted to the bar of the District of Columbia (inactive). She received her law degree from Boston University School of Law, her Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University with honors, and her Masters of Law (LL.M.) degree in European Economic Law (focus on Competition Law) from Stockholm University. Before founding the firm, Ms. Kazazian was associated with McKenna & Cuneo LLP in Denver, Colorado, and Chadbourne & Parke LLP in New York City.
